Dr.Tulika Singh

MBBS, DGO, MRCOG, Diploma in Obstetric Ultrasound (RCOG/RCR), Advanced training in Fetal and Maternal Medicine (London, UK)

Dr. Tulika Singh is an all round Obstetrician and Gynaecologistwith over 15 years of experience in this field. Her main area of expertise however, is in Fetal and Maternal Medicine.

She graduated (MBBS) from Calcutta National Medical College and obtained DGO (Diploma in Obstetrics and Gynaecology) from Vivekananda Institute of Medical Sciences (“ShishuMangal”) in Calcutta, before travelling to UK in 2001 for higher training.

She worked as a trainee in the London Deanery in UK for 8 years before becoming an independent Consultant in O&G with special interest in Fetal Medicine. She attributes her O&G experience from having worked at advanced and highly active units in the UK for the past 13 years.

She received her training in Fetal Medicine from one of the pioneering specialists in Fetal Medicine at St. George’s University Hospital, London, UK. She receiveda Diploma in Obstetric Ultrasound from the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RCOG).Shecompleted and received a certificate from RCOG on Advanced training in Maternal Medicine.She received her Certificate for completion of training (CCT) from UK and is on the Specialist register of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists in UK. After finishing her higher training in UK, she worked as a Consultant in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology with a special interest in Fetal medicine for 5 years before returning to Bangalore, India.

Dr. Singh specialises in managing complex and high-risk pregnancies such as twin pregnancies, pregnancies complicated due to medical conditions such as diabetes, hypertension and respiratory or cardiac problems.Being trained in both, Fetal and Maternal Medicine, she is able to provide a holistic care to high-risk pregnant women.

With her training and experience in the field of gynaecology, she provides care to women with various common gynaecological problems such as menstrual issues, polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS), uterine fibroids and ovarian cysts. She performs diagnostic and therapeutic laparoscopic procedures for managing the common gynaecological conditions. She advises women on contraception and fertility problems.

Prior to joining Rainbow hospital for Women and Children at Bangalore, she had been practising as a Senior Consultant in O&Gat NarayanaHrudalaya unit at HSR Layout, Bangalore. She worked at this unit for 6 months and during this short time, she successfully carried out several emergency and elective gynaecological procedures with no untoward complications.

She is well loved by her patients and has received written appreciation from several patients in the form of “Thank you” cards and letters.

She has been academically active, publishing original articles of research in peer-reviewed journals and has presented in the international conferences. She has been recognised and awarded for her teaching skillswhile in the UK and hopes to establish a unique training programme for the trainees at our unit who wish to apply foradvanced training in the UK.
